I'm Eagerly Waiting for the Corpse Flower to Bloom

I have read on Flipboard that a rare Indonesian flower will be blooming in the next few days at Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX.  What makes this so unique is that these flowers bloom only occasionally or not at all.  This plant bloomed four years ago and they have some stunning pictures of the HUGE flower.  The Corpse Flower's bloom lasts for approximately four days, so if you can make plans to see it, by all means go.  If you live far away like I do, the wonderful folks at Moody Gardens have provided a web cam that can be accessed online.  The link is http://www.moodygardens.com/rainforestwebcam/

As you can see in the photo below, the flower is very large and a beautiful Crimson color.  It is known also for its distinct odor that smells like rotting flesh.  Moody Gardens' have named this flower 'Morticia' and expect it to bloom on Friday 13th.  Let's watch the web cam to see if they are right.
