Design Basic Class
Our Club hosted a Design Basics class that was taught by Doris Crowell. After going over principles of design she then taught a hands on session on creating a vertical design. Lots of laughter and fun as we "cut up" doing our arrangements.

St. Patrick's Day with Tony Tedesco
What a lovely time we had at our Piedmont District Spring meeting on March 17, 2014 at the Doubletree in Richmond. We shared our table with nationally acclaimed speaker Tony Tedesco and heard first hand his concept and explanation of the armature design. His program included several references and clarifications of designs in our National Handbook. Questions popped up all over the audience and he graciously answered each one. He made a valid point that many times our design schedules include the more advanced and complicated designs and ignore the traditional ones that the novice and beginners feel more comfortable doing. Our new members would first enjoy learning simple designs that can be used in the home before they grasp the concepts of the challenging ones.
His creations are below and you can see he is a talented designer. We so enjoyed talking with him and seeing him work his magic.

Chester GC January program "Dueling Divas.
The Chester Garden Club's January program was with our own Dueling Divas. Designs were created by Doris Crowell and Susanne Hillier. They interpreted two designs from our spring artistic schedule......... "Spring Delight in White" a creative design, and "Lost in Space" a spatial thrust design.
